Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

If anyone is interested BASI are running a L1 course at Alford [https://www.livelifeaberdeenshire.org.uk/sport-and-physical-activity/venues/alford-ski-centre/] over the weekend of the 27-28 Nov, 4-5 Dec and unusually it is open to 14+ aged skiers if anyone has good ski kids keen on getting a taste of teaching.

This can be a surprisingly good shout for kids. My daughter did the old English Ski Council 'Club Instructor' course when she was 14, and really enjoyed it.

Have you become a social-medija shill for Baz-eeee ?
Seems odd to have a blogger in Grenoble promoting a L1 in Alford of all places.

FWIW : its a nice wee dryslope slope and Gordon skiers a good race-club wink

Thought you had to be 16? When my colleague did it aged 15 (about 40 years ago), there were some strings pulled, and he wasn't given the pass till he was 16. My daughter then did SSE club instructor about 10 years ago, aged 15, and again strings had to be pulled to get them to allow it.

Correct. She did the course and enjoyed it, but it was never about the bits of paper at the time. She was offered these when she was 16 however. No strings needed pulling, as she had been a regular customer at our dry slope since age 5, (and was pretty handy at bashing the poles) so was very much part of the furniture. I guess the fact that Mrs t_m and I were employees there helped too.

@telford_mike, yep, pretty much what happened with us. The colleague who did it when he was 15 is the boss, he'd known my daughter since she was 4 and vouched for her with the trainer. Daughter was doing it as the learning something new bit for D of E, so the paperwork didn't matter.
