Well Serre Che you're probably going to have to wait another year for me........ broken tibia last week and surgery to pin it next has put paid to this coming season methinks. Will have to make do with snow porn for now. Keep the reports coming and may try a sneaky Easter trip (fortunate Mrs R doesn't read this forum)

Odd request, if any of the locals are in the area, I broke a mug that my loving child brought back for me from a school ski trip a few years ago, and I want to see if I can replace it. It was bought in a gift shop here:
https://goo.gl/maps/XkNz4f1oRVMJebjU7
I've searched the internet and so far not found it just a more generic version without a skier, so I was wondering if someone local can visit the shop and see if they still have them
If they do could you purchase one, and send back to UK and I'll reimburse costs, thanks

Booked into Serre Chevalier quite late - in the UCPA between 24/03/2022 and 27/03/2022 for a short trip. Quite late but I'm assured there will be a bit of snow, very excited too!

Bit off topic but does anyone know if any of the rental places (or other stores) hire out ski clothing? Asking for a friend trying it out for their first time who have no warm clothes

@pistemeister, unfortunately, Vincent and Daniella sold it a couple of years ago as Vincent's health was not good.
Real shame, as it was a bit of a local for us and we had some crazy New Years Eve's in there.
It's now been replaced by a pucker restaurant, L'Oree Du Bois, which is very good, and if you're a foodie then it's a toss-up between there and la Table du Chazal in Les Guibertes as to which is the best in the Valley, though there is a very good gaff in Monetier that we have not been to*.
We tend not to eat out that much preferring to go to one of the above every six weeks or so.
Just been Googling and would seem that the Hotel Alliey no longer has the restaurant!

Weathercam, that is a shame. It was our favourite restaurant in the valley, always managed at least one meal there when we were in the area.

@Weathercam, one of their chefs has opened 16ame https://www.16ame.fr/ (Old Pizzeria des Neiges) . It was there before lockdown, but we haven't (obvs) ate their since. La Chazal was pretty amazing though, ate there in September.

@Hells Bells, here you go

Thank you very much! No info about any mid-station, yet skiing down from the proposed arrival area down to either Vallons or Cote Chevalier chairs to head to other sectors is quite tedious with the relatively narrow paths... It also looks like the top of the Mea drag will disappear, and so will the pistes that go with it.

@balso, not so sure about losing the pistes as IIRC there's a lot of greens/blues in that area so it will be ideal to plonk the beginners up the hill in that bowl.
EDIT: Stand corrected - have read the article and see what you mean. (but as I have a total aversion to drag lifts I would have to say I have never bothered with them)
