Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sharing accommodation 2021/2022 season - Alpe d'Huez, la Grave, Deux Alpes

 Poster: A snowHead

Hello,

I am enquiring with you lovely folks about the potential for sharing accomodation for a season across the resorts of Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes and La Grave for the coming 2021/2022 season.

I spent the winter season of 2019/2020 in various places in my van and ended up in Auris en Oisans (part of Alpe d'Huez domain) for the last couple of weeks before covid killed it. It had a free motorhome aire at the time. I have credit from 2020/21 season refund to use in Alpe d'Huez so am a bit tied there. A Supernova pass covering the 3 resorts mentioned is currently the bargain
of €1100 for the coming season.

Alas it seems Alpe d'Huez have shut their aire (verification needed) and Auris now charge for theirs. On top of that I am in a new, untested in winter, van.

The price of toasty warm accommodation (small 1.5 room job) for 3-4 isn't that much more pppw than the price of using the aires so I am now considering that. Pppw cost would be between €70-100. I'd be looking to spread the time across the 3 resorts in some fashion. I can also offer a lift for 1 person to the Alps.

So... would anyone be interested in getting cosy in small apartments for a season?? All ages, genders welcome.

Skiing together would be cool I guess but entirely optional. I'm confident on blacks and started to get into off piste and touring at the end of the season (did a solo overnight tour to snow bivvy at 2800m as the pinnacle of my experience). I definitely want to enjoy the pistes but also want to get a lot more off piste, freeride and touring experience.

Thanks for reading. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

Regards,

Pete

I might be okay with increasing the pppw cost if there are not many takers or if a group wanted to rent somewhere bigger.

Initially I was counting on a free aire in Auris with a weekly cost now being about €70. I guess at a stretch I'd be happy to go up €125pppw or so.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

And of course the durations for individuals do not have to be the whole season. I'd be happy to rent with different viable groups, as long as the logistics don't get too mad. So like 3-4 weeks for a group in one location would work. I'd hope to move about a bit anyway.

Oh, I'm a 40 year old male if it makes any difference. Still fairly young at heart

How are you going with this, can you find the accom and pick up accom per week as easily as that? Drop me a PM.
