It is now official. Ski Mo will be in the Milan 2026 Olympics. But the original of all our fun, and very culturally relevant everywhere, is omitted. Telemark of course.
"In an effort to maintain interest, the IOC is now giving Olympic host cities the opportunity to offer new disciplines if they are both “spectacular” and “culturally relevant to the host country and beyond”, the IOC said in a statement. However, as an “additional sport” requested by the Italian organisers, there is no guarantee that it will remain an Olympic sport."

I can see that now, that was the 2019 event. Hope it goes ahead what with Covid and all.

Am I missing something but isn't this essentially Olympic cross country skiing, just rolled back to it's origins?

I quite agree, Telemark skiing should be in the Olympics. After all, they already have Telemark canoeing......

They would have put telemark in but the Winter Olympics only lasts 2 weeks, so each competitor would only have time for maybe 2 or 3 turns each.
