Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transit in private car through Italy

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Heading to France this weekend but the quickest route to Montgenevre is to enter Italy for about 40mins. So we are exempt from testing and just need to to do a declaration am I right in thinking we don’t need to do an Italian passenger locator form or do we still need to do one. Also is there a standard Italian exemption declaration form?
Any help greatly appreciated

If you have been in the UK in the last 14 days before you enter Italy you need a PLF and a negative test result.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

However - if you follow the Italian questionnaire https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/index_en.html
through to the end and scroll down beyond the part that talks about Covid certificates and testing there are Exemptions, including transit.

Returned today from the PreBB and BB driving through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Italy, there were no border checks anywhere. Although we did have all the relevant documents. snowHead

I assume you are going through Frejus tunnel and up to Montgenevre via Susa/Cesana Torinese/Claviere??

I believe if you are transiting Italy using private means, you are exempt. Probably unlikely to get stopped but if you are, it might be handy to have proof of where you're going to be staying that night.
