Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Former 2012 Olympics Long Jump Gold Medal winner Greg Rutherford is secretly training with the GB bobsleigh squad, aiming to be the first Briton to win summer and winter Olympic medals
.
It has been three years since the London 2012 long jump champion hung up his spikes, his body beaten up and broken down. But, incredibly, the 34-year-old returned to training last year and has secretly joined the GB bobsleigh squad as part of an audacious attempt to become the first Briton ever to win both summer and winter Olympic medals. What makes Rutherford’s story even more remarkable is that he has never sat in a bobsleigh before. But next month, Covid permitting, he will attend a team training camp in Gibraltar having been told by GB Bobsleigh coaches that he has “every chance” of making the Winter Olympics in Beijing next February.

Well he's got the right physique for the engine room in the middle of a 4 man Bob. Guess he won't be appearing as a driver as that must take time to get inch perfect. Not sure how much time it takes to learn the brakeman skills.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

as you say, the middle seats of a 4 man bob are the least technical. You need speed and power, which he has, and he'll have to learnt to get into the bob efficiently, but a good number people have crossed from track & field to bobsleigh, so he probably has a reasonable chance of making the squad.. His chances of winning a medal as part of an under funded GB outfit is quite slim though
