Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solo mission

Avi risk down to 2 and a bit of cold, fresh snow all pointed towards a high altitude mission. Alas the morning holiday crowds had put of my ski partners. Plenty of groups going into backside Mont Fort so headed over to the steeper chute
Pretty lumpy warm up

Someone had put in a nice Jacobs ladder bootpack so up we go

Tom the snowboarder

Mont Fort glacier. That’s more like it

Looking back at the chute
B52 is bare - suspect big slab went Skullie

Tom offered to spot me on the descent / cross traverse. Nice how freeriders support each other

Next pitch looks good

It was dreamy

Lots of debris on the left hand side dam traverse

A bit heavier in the trees down to the Tortin exit path

Loved that! It’s good to be alive...

@BobinCH, chapeau for that, just don't think even at Risk2 with that weak layer and recent simple innocuous terrain incidents I'd be doing stuff like that, or is it not as bad as it looks?

It’s fair to say I was a bit on edge and took the safest route options I could. The lower sections that had slid were solid, but the powder fields at the top could still be delicate.
