Can't quite see how he managed to jump so short on the 180 off the ramp given those are set up for launching? Is that a feature that there is actually an easy abort for jumpers onto the knuckle?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Like butter!
Reminds me of the start from Supervention...really should go and watch that again.
@Dave of the Marmottes, I don't think so - I think its all to do with the ski jumpers leaning forward, generating some lift and the release technique - i'm no expert mind you
Quote:
Contrary to what you may think, the end of the ramp doesn’t go up. In fact, the ski jump has about a 10.5-degree down angle. This means that for ski jumpers to maximize distance of flight, they actually extend from their aerodynamic crouch and jump instead of sliding off the end of the ramp. Timing, strength, and body position on takeoff are key to a successful jump.

Ok, impressive TO speed, but Switch 180 off the jump onto a kicker for a double front flip, with a layout in it - that'll mid-table you in most Big Air compos these days, and the butt-plant on the landing would've taken more off.

@extremerob, yeah I'm a big fan of Field Productions, that film in particular. Looking forward to when the Aksel doc comes out, hopefully will get a digital release with subtitles.
