Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The History of South Wales Skiing - A Request

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Good morning all

Firstly, many thanks for all the likes and comments for the scenic and action shots I've shared recently.

It's very much appreciated.

I've been skiing in the Brecon Beacons National Park since 1996 documenting the snowfall, the scenes, and the skiing done solo and with people I've met on the mountain and forums like this one.

I'm in the process of writing a pictorial, poetic, and historical book on skiing in the Park and the wider South Wales and I would be very grateful if people could share their experiences of skiing or snowboarding in S Wales with me.

Especially those who made turns prior to 1996.

I've heard some great tales but not seen too many photos.

So any photos, or even film, would be great to see.

Please direct message me or reply to this post.

Thanks in advance.

And in the meantime, THINK SNOW!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Does the artificial slope at Pontypool make it into your account? Very Happy

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Mike Pow,
My husband and I used to use the old ski tow at Storey Arms back in the early seventies using a pair of wooden skis with leather bindings we bought in Newport Market. We’ve still got the skis but sadly I don’t think we’ve got any photos but I will dig out some of the archives (biscuit tins) and check.
Good luck!
