Ex Para Karl Bushby who has been walking around the world for the past 7 years is to be deported from Russia due to entering the country via a non authorised access point (across the frozen baring straits)

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Hopefully, he'll be allowed to continue his walk after he's applied for a new visa and re-entered legally. Strikes me as a bit of bad planning not to have sorted this out in advance - or maybe he needs the oxygen of publicity???

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

kuwait_ian, acording the BBC on the telly his father doesn't think it will be possible, the guy is as mad as they come, i built some footbeds for him back in '98 before he set out. one of them is framed in the Superfeet UK office signed and after 10000 + miles still looking good (it is in a sealed glass box, might be the smell)

They've had a bureaucratic mindset since Tsarist times, carried through the Soviet era and no doubt beyond. Nikolai Gogol's comedy The Government Inspector (1836) is an excellent satire on the theme.

Problem seems to have been point of entry. Where he pitched up having crossed from Alaska made sense geographically, but no bureaucratically. His father (who does not speak Russian) ran into brick walls trying to deal with officials in Russia. He might have had better luck dealing with the embassy here - or asking his MP for Foreign Office assistance.
