Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello! I am looking for some advice in picking skis for my 12 yr old daughter. She is 167.6 cm. She has been skiing recreationally for 5 years, is a cautious skier and I would consider her to be in between beginner and intermediate level. We have bought used skis up until now and I was planning on doing the same this year, however I am late to the game and there are not a lot of options to pick from this year. Seems like everyone wants to ski this year.
Here are the limited options I have. Wondering if someone could chime in to give their opinion.
1) Used
Dynastar
exclusive 7 Women's ski 158cm - $159
2) Used
K2
superific Women's ski 153 cm - $170
3) New Rossignol 74 experience w/bindings 160cm - $275 - These are not women's skis.
4) New
K2
Anthem Women's 75 w/bindings - 156cm - $350
I am hoping to stay within $200 for the skis since I think she still has room to grow taller however I want to make sure she has a pleasant experience. With the pandemic and lack of any organized sports activities, I went ahead and signed her up for ski team, not with the intention of racing but only so it forces her to commit to going to practice every week. She is a bit annoyed with me. So needless to say, more pressure for me to make sure her experience is pleasant and therefore making sure I am getting her the right skis
Would appreciate any advice.

Welcome to SnowHeads -- would love to give you some advice, but my knowledge is sadly lacking.
I'm sure someone better informed will be along shortly..
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I am not able to give advice on the right skis, but welcome. I see that you have put the prices in dollars. What part of the world are you in?
I expect someone with more precise knowledge will comment shortly

I am guessing you don't need to fly to a resort? SH is mostly a UK/European community (but skis are skis!), so usually would advise against buying, as airline Ski Carriage can be just as expensive to rent in resort.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you for your kind responses
We live in the US (Wisconsin) and have some local ski hills close by, so we won't need to be flying anywhere.
