When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

“SAFETY CHECK AIRBAG INFLATION SYSTEM 3.0

Please check that the cartridge is screwed into the airbag inflation system completely up to the stop.



Product safety and quality are the number one priority for Mammut. If you own a generation 3.0 avalanche airbag with the Removable Airbag System (RAS) from the winter 20/21 season, please check that the cartridge is screwed into the airbag inflation system completely up to the stop.

Generation 3.0, which has been sold since the 16/17 season, has a neon-orange deployment handle ‒ but only products from the current winter 20/21 season are affected.

The dodgy bags are in batch 2011 which has only been in retailers since July this year so if you bought one before that should be ok.
