Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Don't know if this has been mentoined yet, but cheap skiing up at Nevis, Scotland this weekend - with the forecast blue skies and low winds, should be a classic Mayday weekend!
Taken direct from the Nevis range website:
Bank Holiday special offer - ski for free - pay only for the gondola - Saturday to Monday. Monday 1st May will be the last day of skiing.
That makes an adult day pass price of £8.00 and under-17 price of £4.90. With loads of snow (warrens, summit and goose are definates, back corries?) and a pretty decent park, you need a pretty good reason not to get up there!

From Cairngorm site:-
************************
"May Bank Holiday Snowfest! Ski for only £10! Skidoo and Kassbohrer rides, sledge park, guided tours and much much more! All in aid of the local schools ski programme, it's sure to be a day to remember!"
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Saturday/Sunday definitely the best weather days, Monday looks a bit wet. Actually it might be cool enough for some snow on the higher summits !
I was hoping Nevis might do a couple more weekends, there will still be plenty of snow on the Summit and upper Goose runs. Looks like lack of demand is finishing the season rather than lack of snow
If any of you are thinking about it, definitely get up there. Saturday and Sunday will be spring classics at Nevis, sunshine, light winds and fantastic views. In fact I may just pressgang the family into a day out myself
Back coire will probably require a bit of heather hopping and walking by now but it's an experience not to be missed.
