Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Geneva to Verbier plus overnight in Le chable

Poster: A snowHead
Managed to bag myself 2 tickets from to Geneva at Feb half term next year for £30 pp , absolute bargain , but only downside is we travel out on Friday , so I'm assuming a nice leisurely journey to verbier / martigny/le chable follows. We have all day to make the journey so does anyone have any tips about trains /buses etc and or hotels for the friday night in Martigny or Le Chable .

For trains it's normally 1 train from Geneva Airport to Martigny, then change to get another train to Le Chable, and the gondola to Verbier leaves from the train station at le Chable.

For hotels I can recommend the Martigny Boutique hotel, or the A Alrze in Le Chable (though this is maybe a bit further than you'd like to walk with luggage). There will be more options for eating out in Martigny than in Le Chable, but still enough options for most people in Le Chable

for an earlier thread about a similar trip.

and from a similar thread ....

From GVA a train to Martigny, then short connecting train to Le Chable - the train/télécabine/bus timetable is at [1]. Up to Verbier on the télécabine or PostBus and no need to hire a car or pay for parking. Check to see if they have a supersaver ticket [2] on SBB (but you will have to commit to a specific train/time). If you want cheap, then there's a hostel next to the train station at Le Chable [3], and up the mountain at Ruinettes [4]. Otherwise, take a look at the accommodation section of the Verbier [5] website, where you can also buy passes in advance (but check there's not a train+ski offer on the SBB website first). Or contact the Tourist Office info@verbier.ch and see what they can come up with for you.
