British nationals should avoid all non-essential foreign travel to tackle the spread of coronavirus, the Foreign Office has advised.
(From BBC breaking news)
Should sort any insurance claims, hopefully.

If your booking is from today after the announcement or during the next 30 days, I’m guessing your travel insurance is the place to go. Many travel company’s t&c’s won’t refund for FCO advice. Extraordinary circumstances but check your booking T&C’s. That’s where the definite answer will be.

Really, I can't see the sense in everybody ringing the airlines or their insurers today and expecting a sensible response. Give them a few days to sort themselves out, for goodness' sake! Whatever your policy says, that's what'll happen - whether you hang on to the phone for hours today, or leave it a bit.

@pam w, agreed. And, so far as insurers are concerned, make sure that you've mitigated all possible losses first.

Section 75/chargeback will be the most likely route to a refund, insurance will never pay out until that avenue has been ruled out(from experience).

It's not until April 4th, so I'll be holding on until the last minute in the hope that easyjet cancel the flight, which I guess their must be a strong possibility of doing. Failing that travel insurance will cover.

(Update) ….. BA website is asking for next 72 Hour departures to be processed. Please be patient.

Swiss website saying the same thing...don't contact us unless leaving in three days. I suspect they are deciding on the validity of flights on a rolling day by day basis. Have offered rebooking until December.
On the other hand, all the family are well and our jobs/income are safe-some things are more important.

@skimastaaah,
I gave up on waiting for an answer from BA, but the "manage my booking" part of the website (am I the only person who finds the BA website unnecessarily labyrinthine?) told me that my flight to YVR was eligible for a voucher redeemable within a year and directed me to an online form ("to which we'll respond within 5 working days").
