Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@holidayloverxx, I once drank one with some people in my hotel at an apres bar. One of them said she’d try it the next day. When I got back to the bar the next day, she’d had five of them. She didn’t make it to dinner that night and the next day she said she didn’t realise they were alcoholic. rolling eyes

I remember sitting at a hotel bar in Zell Am See about 15 years ago with my wife. We were drinking wine, but all the locals were on Jagertee. They were drinking it like regular tea. We decided to try it... the following morning we both work up fully dressed in our room and neither of us knew how we got there!
Don’t know if it was because we mixed drinks, or someone added a roofie, but it was unbelievably strong!

Similar.... Breiteckalm in Zell, quite a few years back, I thought I'd try one of the other Jagertee's on the menu - A KaiserJagertee. Not the Atomic or the Lumberjacks tee..... A Kaiser for me! It was reasonably potent and I felt a great warmth within me. I ski'd in the twilight to the Ebenbergalm and had a few beers as night fell. The ski to town from there was extremely mellow and, having had a dose of cold air and shaken the mixture up, I promptly lost the power of speech! I was escorted into town and given a meal and a coke and then escorted back to my bed where I slept remarkably well.

@Pyjama Tim, I think what you have there is one of the less potent forms of Stroh at 40% ABV it goes up to 80%. I’ve got an old bottle of 60, which is viscous enough. The 80 certainly needs diluting.

It’s the Jagertee premixed... just add water... it has the 80% rum in there but also the tea so all you have to do is boil a kettle... perfect for when you are skiing outside of Austria

For Jagertee,
into a mug put
two tots of Schnapps,
two tots of rum,
one glass of red wine,
Fill up the mug with hot tea.

So now you know.

Never tried Jagertee but must give it a go. Can't stand gluhwein and Stroh 80 is abominable.

Tried it last week in kitzbuhel, its easier to drink once it cools a little, those fumes really get the cough reflex going. One of our group had it every lunchtime, I wondered why he was crashing a lot more after ....

SNAP.
We had one Jagertee in serfaus last year, it was a pale orange colour and quite mild like a hot toddy really, we only had one so thought it was a good idea this year in the ski welt to have one on the mountain on the ski back to itter, ( which was icy as hell) we noticed it was darker in colour, but it didn't taste very strong, well, the place we were sitting outside was really pretty, we were on a high from a great day skiing all over the place, so we had 3, holy god was our trip home an adventure, we laughed like teenagers the whole way down, and when we got to the bottom had no idea what had happened us, we were loop de loop, we went back to the apartment and went to bed, we avoided the jagertee after that. ( and there we were thinking it was a more wise choice than a beer). There must be a difference in the mixture in that place in Itter, and the light one in serfaus.
