Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sad news if not inevitable, I have driven past and thought it looked interesting to try one day. I hope it's possible to keep it going somehow.

Revenue collapsed -85% due to no snow this year, so not a huge surprise.

It does raise the question why the resort had not builtup cash reserves to survive a snowless season or two.

After all, global boiling is not new and has been known by the ski industry for at least the past 50 years.

@Whitegold, I thought global warming was a 'good thing'. Have you changed your mind?

Sad news. It was my second school ski trip around 1973/74. Dan Air Comet to Clermont Ferrand and an introduction to Pernod.

In a way it's sadder than for an Alpine resort, because there are basically no alternatives in the area. Linked resort Super Besse on the other side of the ridge is more developed but faces more South, so hardly better positioned for survival. The only other significant resort in the Massif Central, Le Lioran, is significantly further south, and even further away from population centers.

read the article , it’s not closing . Receivership in France is very different to that of the UK it’s about protecting jobs and the business . I went there once in the summer and because of this I like to keep an eye on it via webcams etc hoping one day I might visit on winter . Although a shorter season than most high Alpine resorts it is normally quite successful . I’d fully expect it to be fully open again next season .
