Hello,
Wondered if anyone has experience of hiring family car from Terminal 2. ( easy jet).
Quick look on car rental website shows most companies to be in Terminal 1, don’t really want the hassle of shuttles unless they are super easy??. Also some kind of centaur car hire where you wait for a shuttle to take you off airport??
Just want something easy with two kids in two and reasonable in price.
If anyone has a hassle free experience I would welcome the knowledge.
Thanks

@Hils68, we use EasyJet to MXP, and have used both Hertz and Avis, all the big operators are at T2, there’s a thread already. I’ve been able to get a good deal on a A4 Quattro with winter tyres from Hertz ( sign up for their Gold club and use a MasterCard to get extra discount and quicker service from the desk) for this years holiday, bit more expensive that non 4x4 but it saves the hassle of snow chains, my view is I’m on holiday and don’t want to mess about with chains when I want to be skiing having had to do it one year. The only downside was that they only had the deal on at T1 so we are going to have to use the shuttle this year, a hassle I’m prepared to have in lieu of the car I wanted.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The shuttle is straight forward enough, one option would be to leave family and bags in T2 by the side door and go and pick the car up yourself then pick them up.

The Hertz rates and availability at T2 were very different from T1 when I booked so I'm off to T1. I've done it before; shuttle is a pain but doable.

Were flying into T2 but I've booked hire from T1 as the options / savings are worth the hassle of a shuttle imo. Booked form Hertz for a 4x4 with winter options included for £140 for 5 days hire.

I got a winterised Range Rover Velar for £250 for 10 days with Hertz. They wanted more for an X Trail at T2.

For the same price I could have had a Q7, GLE or XC90. Looking at the Hertz side now shows those are over £600.
I'm looking forward to a 3 hour drive in the Velar!

@Gaz_H, as above, it was the Hertz Black Friday Sale. Picked the Velar up on Wednesday. Left my son with another family I know at T2 while I went to T1.

I'd just say quite quickly that the shuttle bus between terminals is right outside the door so no hassle at all.

i've booked t1 car hire and landed in t2. its fine, but just frustrating the time it takes to get on the road. if you dont mind the extra time, t1 is fine.

T2 car hire is pretty good since the new centre opened. Generally shorter queues than T1 but prices are usually different. Centauro for off site rental from either terminal is also ok.

I booked a Fiat 500 with Centaur. The shuttle runs frequently from out front of both terminals. And you can call them when you arrive. They use big bright yellow shuttles so you can't miss it. They're about 10 minutes away from the terminal. Snow chains were included (but check they fit befire you leave). It was a good price for the rental. I had to pay an extra 100 to take it cross border into France though but it was still a good deal.
