I’m sure this has been answered before but apologies, phone is not ideal for trawling through the hundreds of pages that my searching threw up!
First time in Tignes, decent first day today despite poxy weather and rain affected slopes. But, lunch was a real let down, the worst of stereotypical , expensive, cafeteria rubbish. Blame it on lack of research, closed lifts or being spoiled by skiing in Austria and Italy......
Anyway, hive mind, recommend me a lunch spot! Doesn’t need to be Michelin starred or $$$ but ideally decent food and a bit of charm. On mountain ideally but around Lac also. (Need to collect kids at 2pm so not in Fornet!)
Thanks in advance

plus 1 for the omelettes in there.
Always enjoy a beer and a burger in Loop Bar.

@GreenDay, thanks, had spotted that one but lots to wade through on my small/decrepit phone!
We were at Palet (sp?). Seems to feature heavily on threads as being poor

@gilo, Palet is not good, never has been.
Aspen in Val Claret is not on the piste but very good value. The Aspen Burger is enough to pole axe an elephant. Omlettes are good at The Savouuna as well, just above Lac on Anenome. Get there early or late though it soon gets busy.

@gilo, For a lighter lunch CocoRico in Val Claret is okay. (Inside, not the outside counter) Freshly cooked pizza by the slice plus reasonably priced hot drinks etc.
If you fancy lunch with a proper Italian flavour (and you can get a seat) try the Jam Bar. Rue de la Poste. Just to the right of the Palafour lift as you ski down.
You can ski to the edge of the piste just across from the front door.

@chocksaway, thanks for the advice on Savouuna, lovely lunch today. Full of pisteurs which is always a good sign! Friendlier, tastier, more atmospher and cheaper than yesterday.
Thanks everyone for the advice, have scoped the locations of many options today so all set for the week. Snowheads to the rescue again!

@gilo, Interesting that he was just following his Dad into the building trade, built the Savouna and the client couldn't pay so he became a restauranteur. His Dad poured most of the concrete in Val Claret!

Mountain stops super busy today so ate in town. Le creperie bretton ( near loop bar), lovey savoury crepes, friendly staff and good value (IMHO).

If u fancy a bit of economy gilo:
- Spar supermarket at Le Lac (near Palafour lift) has a good value hot food counter, with seating & coffee vending machine too. Can usually get stuff like tartiflette & lasagne - at very cheap prices compared to mountain restaurants.
- Or if u fancy a money saving picnic, there's a quite pleasant picnic room at the bottom of Toviere gondola. It's very warm, with a microwave, washing up facilities and toilets.
- (Further afield) there's a fantastic 'picnic room' - more like posh cafe/lounge - with lovely seating, cafe counter, microwave and fantastic views from panoramic windows, at the top of the Solaise gondola/chair. Very posh toilets too! Well worth a visit, if only for a cuppa.

La Savouna, just at the junction of Combes and Kadjar (halfway up palafour) above Le Lac. Great food. Fantastic cakes for a stop at the end of the day. Really nice people.
(edit - I see you've already found it!)

Late to the question, but my fave is Soli especially when the sun is shining. Easy in and out, big deck. Great views

Thanks all. The end of a great week and delighted that Palet wasn’t representative. Hopefully this thread helps other in future!
Personal favourite was Savouuna, but honourable mentions to Soli, escale blanche, creperie bretton and the tipi bar above Val for hotdogs when skiing right across the map.

+2 for the Aspen. Nice curly fries and big portions (often too much) Their salmon sandwich is very good along with burgers
