Hi All,
Same boat as you both, my normal party for one reason or another cannot make the trip this year so there just me itching to go away. If you both up for sorting something out i'm pretty flexible when/where I can go, I'm 40 and I like to think half decent at snowboarding, up for a laugh full day out and a few drinks.
Give me a shout if your interested
Cheers
Dan

PM sent out to you guys.
Yell if anyone else is interested.
Thanks Admin will look into PreBBWUW. I've never been to the Dolomites - however someone told me its brill for piste sking, but not a good place for off-piste free riding (not a lot of pow/ very rocky).

The Sela Ronda area does offer, in my opinion, the best piste skiing in the World (and if anyone has a strong informed opinion otherwise, I'd really like to hear about any contenders).
But that's not to say there isn't good off-piste to be had. There are some amazing descents from the Gruppo Sella and the Marmolada to be done and we have lots of regular haunts for easy access powder in the trees.
Like anywhere though, it's all about timing if you're looking specifically for powder. Anywhere you go, it can be perfect powder one day and crud/crust/boilerplate the next as the weather changes. It's fair to say that we've had lot's of great off piste skiing around there, much of it in powder and it's certainly not the bun-fight to get lines that it can be in places like St Anton when the snow hits. That said, we wont go skiing crap snow off piste just for the sake of it as the pistes and refugios are too lush to waste.
Rocks though? No, in that respect you've been misinformed. The pistes and land around them are predominantly grassland and need relatively little snowfall to make them skiable compared to places like the Tarrentaise.
If you're particularly after more gnarliness, check out the GnarliBuG in Gressoney. As an area, it provides endless gnarly options but also enough of the gnice stuff (that Italy is renowned for) to make that side worth a week in itself. Particularly good spot for couples of whom one likes to go Gnarly while the other likes it Gnice.
