Poster: A snowHead

Has anyone used this company before. ?
Taxi Alps Dolomites
Giardini Rapp, Via Mercato Vecchio, 8/C, 39042 Bressanone BZ, Italien
We booked a transfer for early March with them via a transfer comparison website in back in November.
I have been contacted by the price comparison website to say they have had some unfavourable reviews with transfers not turning up and being cancelled with very short notice, which is worrying.
As a result they are no longer promoting them on their website.
We are going Munich to Saalbach for a group of 9 and don’t want to be stuck in an airport or in resort at the last minute.
Any experiences out there ?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Never used that company and would certainly not be using them for a transfer between Munich and Saalbach. They are located on the edge of the Italian Dolomites near the Pusteria valley. They are located roughly 3 hours away from Munich and 3hr 10mins from Saalbach. Thats hell of a journey for them to do your trip and I'm suprised they even came up on the comparison site for your trip. And even more shocked that they came up with the best price.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Unless that is just the company HQ address and the taxis are based in various locations??
But it doesn't sound good that the comparison have dropped them due to poor feedback.

An internet search of the company name doesn't come up with any results either -- get someone else to do your transfer..

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Oh no!!
If they don't exist, it might explain why they were bidding low on a run that is nowhere near the supposed base.
Hopefully the OP paid by credit card and not bank transfer!
I bet the comparison site knows more than they're letting on.

If you search for "Taxi" on google maps for central Bressanone, there is a taxi firm called "Mellauner Reisen - Viaggi" which pops up on the map in exactly the same location (8/C Via Mercato Vecchio) as the address for the "Taxi Alps Dolomites". Yet in the left hand window pane, the address for "Mellauner Reisen" shows as "Via Roma 1". All very bizzare!!!

@jimmybog, nice find - I should withdraw my comment above, as they do seem to exist (although under a different name)
Website here (and they list Munich as an airport they serve)

Well I'm still not convinced its the same company though its very bizzare. The map places the location pin when you search "Taxi", right at the address of Taxi Alps but shows the company name as "Mellauner Reisen". But look at the address of Mellauner Reisen, its actually Via Roma 1, yet the search pin location doesn't pinpoint at "Via Roma 1" which is an entirely different street. Maybe the taxi firm has changed names or owners and now moved HQ ??

@jimmybog, good detective work thankyou.
We have booked on a CC so at least there is some sort of comeback for us. It may be a case of taking too much on over Xmas or drivers letting them down but once that doubt is in your mind its difficult to know which way to go.
In the meantime we will get in touch and also look at a plan B.

Yes there is a phone number given with the address so I would try and call them to a) ensure they do actually exist and b) confirm your transfer pick up etc. And good luck!!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@hedley, Four Seasons/Tirol Taxi operate from Munich airport, their price for a transfer for 9 people is showing as €573 one way or €1088 return. I've used them several times from Munich to the Zillertal, they have a desk at each of the 2 terminals at Munich airport and are reliable.
