Hi guys,
New to SNOWHEADS and excited to be here!
I am looking for advice/help.
Yes, I have searched before posting.
This just baffles me, no idea why this had happened and I know I can fix it, but HOW?
(read below)
I have skied for four consecutive years using my VOLKL RTM 73 173 cm skis (2015) with factory mounted Motion 3 Bindings.
Yesterday was my last day for this European season (ended up here https://pamporovo.me/en/) and I've tried just now, to fit my ski boots onto the ski and they appear to be too long (or the bindings have readjusted by themselves somehow overnight and do not allow the ski boots to sit in - not enough room)!?
Ski bindings seem solid stable, no wobble or looseness anywhere. I am 99.9% sure, these are my skis and my boots.
I am excluding any possibility that, somebody at the 4 star massive hotel that we stayed, entered the ski and snowboard room, to replace my boots and/or skis with identical ones or readjusted my bindings Ooooo!
Also, until the last minute of joy, my ski equipment was as good as new.
Anyone with similar experience or knowledge of how this could possibly happen?
Many Thanks,
Nas

Last time I heard about this happening was because someone picked up another set of similar skis.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I though about this, but my girlfriend skis and mine were sitting alone at the corner of the room. Same for the boots.

Would this be the same person whose "similar skis" were a different colour and brand of rentals?

Always put identification stickers of some sort on your own skis. Doesn't need to be your name, just something to make them stand apart from similar ones.

snowHeads stickers are good for this - and sometimes spark discussions on chairlifts!

Nope, rentals over here have permanent marker pen number signs.

Yes, I've played around that quite few times, because I didn't believe my eyes at first.

Hi @nasatcom, welcome to
Ignoring the "how" for the moment, I'm not familiar with the bindings but have you checked the length setting against your BSL?
|
|
|
|
|
|
@motyl, it's not always marked.
|
|
|
|
|
You know it makes sense.
|
@nasatcom, I know you excluded it but...........I would guess someone has thought it was "funny" to adjust the boot sole length setting on your bindings as a practical joke (it will just be a lever / dial to move)
or had the same skis as yours and have done a swap and taken yours home as they were in better nick. Happened to a friends wifes boots in austria
Take the skis to a ski shop with your boots for them to reset it

@Zorrac, Agreed - if they’re rail type binding mountings it’s not always obvious how to adjust BSL but, once revealed, it’s laughably quick and easy. That’s why hire shops use little else.

Maybe someone was considering pinching them, shortened the binding down but then realised it would not go small enough for their boots and gave up.
You may never know..............
Your girlfriends not in the corner of the room sniggering right now is she?
