Poster: A snowHead

Traveling to Tignes, arriving at GVA. Looks like there is a Swiss postal service office right across from Montreaux Jazz Cafe, which is where many shuttle buses depart.
The GVA website says they sell SIM cards. Anyone ever tried them?
The main issue is EU roaming charges with Swiss carriers on some plans.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@binba, there's WiFi in the airport and then there'll be a very brief period before you're in France.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you're looking to buy a "sim only no contract" to use in France/Switzerland I'd look at the Vodafone deal in the UK first; unlimited calls, unlimited, texts and importantly unlimited data for around the £23 per month 30 day notice iirc.
At least for the time being with no roaming charges it is probably cheaper than anything you could buy in France or Switzerland where I always have the impression data is expensive!

I don't think the OP is from Europe.
I got my French Free SIM sent to me at the rental agency that I used in Tignes.

Free.fr SIMs don’t fully cover Switzerland. Can’t recall the details but we had a costly surprise, necessitating a shift to SFR.
Although, @binba, you won’t be in Switzerland for very long, hopefully, so surely you can live without it? If your own contract covers France?

I used a 3 mobile equivalent recently - 90 unlimited textx/calls/data - It was great apart from the fact that I use a lot of data and once I'd hit 12gb (3days in) the data cut-off having exceeded the 'fair usage policy' - so not really unlimited.
France post office do a sim only and vouchers to top-up (£30 for 4gb) - means you do get good data speed and unlimited calls/texts
