Poster: A snowHead

As the subject says...... never been skiing up there before so though Id give it a go as a last min trip.
Hope the weather works out ok but anyhow I will be traveling part way tonight and then the last couple of hours in the morning.
Questions
Q. Am I going to encounter any delays in the morning? I estimate about 2 hours travel time so with a 7am start time to be in CG for 9ish. Do I need to set off earlier to miss traffic at certain times?
Q. Will I need chains?
Q. Whats a good idea when I get into CG, any secrets regarding parking?
Q. Where is a good breakfast stop on the way?
Any other info you can think of?

Fantastic!
had some great skiing, snow was unbelievable for this time of year, firm but not icy in the morning, softening up nicely to wonderful spring snow (not really heavy mashed potato). I even had a few runs where I found some fresh powder on the west wall (from the top of chair down to the ciste gully). went back and did it 5 times and cut some new lines each time. Moguls on the White lady ended up to be pretty good, did them a few times in a row and I am still feeling the effects of it now. I found that later on the snow was becomming very sticky and wet, I didn't have the right wax on and could really tell as the skiis would stick slowing me down.
from my original question
I didn't encouter any probs getting there in the morning, A9 was good. set off a little later than expected but still made it out on the snow for 10:00
I didn't need chains and didn't have any problems parking, I should have bypassed the top carpark the second day and gone to the lower one to get a bit closer.
Got breakfast at McD's on the way so no need when we got there.

I've had a great few days in Scotland too. Rode Glencoe on Fri then Cairngorm Sat and Sun. Definately worth doing when there are decent conditions, was very patchy in places but I took my old board so that didn;t concern me too much. The M2(? - on that ends to the left of the funicular looking up the hill) is definately more than 'patchy' at the bottom though. The only way to get to the bottom is too walk or by extended 'heather riding' - which we did some of and was quite amusing!
All the t-bars can be a bit hard on the legs if you're a non-skier mind!!

I found that riding T's and P's all day as well as skiing really takes it out of you. I usually would ski all day without much of a break but I needed a good lunch stop and a drink break.
By the end of the 2 days I did it was getting a little painfull to use the poma's

Board4Life,
You mean the Daylodge run. The M2 ends at the top of the poma where you can go either to the right down Over Yonder to the WW poma or left down the Daylodge run back to the car park- the Daylodge is most definitely broken at the bottom requires about 50m of walking. There was (just about) a run back to the bottom via the Fiacall Ridge and I guess you could probably ski back down the Car park tow up track if the tow was off as that looked complete aswell, but I didn't ski that later. M2 was brilliant last thing yesterday. Soft spring snow, fast not sticky and not slushy. It was also almost completely unskied as yesterday the ww poma was off due to high winds so the only way to ski it was to walk the bottom of the daylodge and then get the train or frp back up - which would have taken a fair amount of time. We just used it as a quick route off the top after catching the last train up after young Rory decided he didn't want to do the bumps on the Lady again (and then be forced up the Cas and down the Faicall ridge).
