Poster: A snowHead

We will stay at Hochgurgl over the Christmas week. For the period, we are planning to send two 11 and 7 years old kids to the ski school for 3-4 days. They have skied for three weeks, but still at the beginner level and they still need to learn the parallels. In that case, can we just go to the meeting point and drop them at the school on Sunday morning without any booking or should we pre-book before Saturday? Also since we are staying at Hochgurgl, the ski school at Hochgurgl can be more convenient for us. However, there are comments that the Hochgurgl ski school is much smaller so it is difficult to find the class with the right level. But will it be the case even for the Christmas week since the week could be the busiest week?

@PiggyBack, Give the Hochgurgl ski school a call, you certainly don't want to have to use the Obergurgl ski school if you're staying in Hochgurgl. The Obergurgl classes meet at the bottom of the mountain in Obergurgl and it will take you ages to get there.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Steve. We will hire a car, but it seems that it is difficult to park at Obergurgl, is it or not? Otherwise we can drop the kids at the Obergurgl ski school in the morning with the lunch option. But is the Hochgurgl ski school so small that is it really difficult to find the groups with the same level? It seems that the Obergurgl ski school is very well organized with online booking options.

@PiggyBack, You are right, parking in Obergurgl is pretty tricky, to discourage day trippers. I've only ever used the Obergurgl ski school. If there's one week when Hochgurgl should have plenty of teachers on the hill it will be Christmas/New Year. I'd give them a call.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If I remember from last years, there is a frequent bus connecting them both. The schedule is very precise. Austrian style.
You can always book private lessons for them, to advance faster.
We used Snowlines from Solden. My kids' teacher was named Karel, he arrived each morning on time and was perfect with them. Highly recommended
