Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Avoiding European Holiday Periods

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am considering going to St. Moritz next season (2025) from Feb 22 - March 1. I am an American so I have no idea when European Holidays are. I certainly want to avoid the crazy times. Are these dates good? A week later? A week earlier?

Thank you in advance.

@skimachine, I think you will find that St Moritz is not affected by school holidays in the way many other places are. The Polo and Cresta run crowd will go when they want not follow the dictates of a school holiday timetable.

That's when the French school holidays are but that's really only an issue for French stations.

FYI, bookmark this page if you're thinking about the French alps: https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F31952

Zurich school holidays are earlier 2 weeks in Feb although as noted above this might not be a standard Swiss family ski resort anyway.
We ski elsewhere in the canton and never really find it that busy compared to bigger French resorts (or NA on a powder day, ha).

@abricotine, not all ZH is early- we are last two weeks in Feb.its on a gemeinde by gemeinde basis…. Which is a pain. But i’d say makes sod all difference to StM.

St Moritz is always empty on the slopes - even at New Year other than a day or teo either side it always seems quiet to me (compared to PdS).

@denfinella, actually Alterra's Ikon pass (rather than Vail's Epic) but yeah I assume this is the reason
