New dumb baggage rule.
You cannot take your boots in a separate bag to your snowboard.
They now have to be packed with your snowboard. This was not the 'case' last year.
Going to catch a lot of people by surprise.

Website for snowboards say you can pack your boots in the snowboard bag
For ski’s it says you can place your boots in a separate bag.
I done the online chat & they said snowboard boots cant go in its own bag as part of the sports equipment.
I have sent off an email to EJ to ask why the change.
My snowboard bag does not have compartments for boots.

What about helmets? Can they just be carried onto the plane on addition to hand luggage?

@denfinella, not in addition, as part of your allowance. I take helmet and boots + gear in a tab 50l every time

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I can picture the comedy sketch: 'easyJet to Geneva, ski season'. Guy comes on with a large roller-case, snorkel sticking out - small child inside whispers "Daddy, I don't feel well.". Next person is stopped at the door "Sir, that's a wheelie-bin.". Next person wheels a gas barbeque on "Look, I'm not paying in-flight prices - I'm preparing my own food." Meanwhile middle-aged husband & wife spend 15 minutes taking coats off and e v e r s o s l o w l y fold them while the queue forms down the steps (in pouring rain). Then curt businessman crushes other passengers overhead luggage by 50%: "Just. Enough. Space. To. Get. My. Bag. In. Here." [tinkle of breaking items] Middle aged couple remember they've left their mobiles in their coats so reverse the whole storage process. Seasonnaire striding down the aisle manages to knock-out every alternate C and D passenger as she deftly swings the concrete-clad helmet hanging from her rucksack in a side to side sinewave. Businessman get out his 33" laptop and the plane's lights briefly dim as he powers it up. 'clomp', 'clomp' sound gets nearer and from the front "Look, these really aren't ski boots. I have a medical condition that means I need prosthetic feet." ... "Made by Salomon?" replies the steward. I could go on ....
