Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What is this boot adjustment setting at the side

I want to experiment with forward lean and before buying some spoilers I wondered if this lateral setting has anything to do with that?

It doesn't change forward lean, it alters the angle the cuff sits on the clog.

Often called "cant", because that's what Londoners shout after fiddling about with it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I want to experiment some forward lean since I did a range test which suggests it would help my balance

@Gustavobs, this is incredibly difficult to get right by yourself. There are bucket ways of doing it at home but the best way is to see someone who knows what they are doing. Andi McCann at Alpine Mccannix is the best bet.

@Gustavobs, this adjuster sets your "cuff alignment". Best to Google it; but basically, it aligns the lateral (side-to-side) position of the cuff (the upper part of the boot), with the natural position of your leg/calves when standing in the boot. So it's *not* to force your leg into any give position — rather to just *align* the cuff with your leg.

"Forward lean" is something else, and is a bit of a complicated subject. Best to Google it, and take a good read. Different fitters have different opinions. But as others have said, Andi McCann at Solutions4Feet is the only guy I've found who really understands it, and can set you up correctly.

Then there is "canting" which is something else again... rolling eyes
