Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Black Crows Atris mounting point

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Bought some 189cm Black Crows Atris 18/19 version. They review well and I tested some with rental bindings last season.

So where should I mount them? Black crows default is -8cm back from true centre which sounds quite far back already. If anyone owns these or has used them what are your thoughts? Interested to know how that performs for piste and when theres no powder.

I'm 6,2" and 80kg will be skiing these about 60% off piste.

The factory mark is spot on unless you have freakishly small or large feet.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I have 26.5 boots which are quite small for my height though not freakishly small I can blow over in the wind or after a few jagers

that is quite small

A mate of mine is quite short/light but a strong skier. He skis Mantras at about 178cm and left them in my cave with a "feel free to let anyone borrow them".

Thing is he's got really small feet in snug boots (24 or something!) and I've realised that it is very unlikely I'm ever going to find someone else with boots that will fit into his bindings that can drive 178cm mantras! Very Happy

Can perhaps re mount them, unless the guy wants them back

on the line, the amount of parameters involved in finding the preferred point on a ski are unfathomable, stick with what the manufacturers have told you and tweek if needed.

There's a detailed conversation about mount points on the Atris here from about the 21 minute mark. https://blisterreview.com/featured/black-crows-skis-1819-lineup-ep-7

Note that Julian Regnier mounts forward of the line but I suspect no one on here skis that well or has that much of an understanding of how ski gear performs.
