Thinking about booking a last minute trip to either Saalbach or Kitzbuhel, we were in Kitzbuhel a couple of years ago in the summer and had a great time.
How does Saalbach compare in the summer, usual activities of walking and biking etc.

Both are nice but Kitzbuhel has the amazing lake for swimming.

@JimboS, You are aware that compared to both Kitz and Saalbach, Lech is small, very quiet in summer, and rather remote?

@munich_irish, it actually is indeed!
But I know that many Brits like a bit of liveliness, and Lech is not offering that in summer.

We are going for walking and cycling so are not too worried about not being a party town.

Lech is great for walking and cycling.
But it simply is very small, and with a bit of an ‘at the end of the world’ feeling.
Also lots of hotels closed in summer.
Very beautiful though.
Just emphasizing a bit because Lech is a big name in winter, similar to Kitz etc, but definitely something different in summer. Kitz being a larger town, Lech just a large pretty hamlet amidst some alpine passes, with a lot of luxury hotels.

Just had a look at the what's on and there seems to be quite a few activities organised the week we are there to keep us busy, kicking off with the Zug village fesitval on Sunday. We have the "My Lech" card that gives free bus and lift use as well as a host of other activities, golf lesson, ebike use, guided walks etc.
Won't be as full on as last years summer week in the Hof but that's ok.

@JimboS,
Have fun!
Some suggestions:
The hike towards Bürstegg is great. You can do it from Oberlech, or coming from Warth (free bus, free Steffisalpe chairlift) and then via Bürstegg back to Lech or Oberlech.
Also check de modern Der Wolf hütte at Petersboden. Lovely modern-traditional architecture, good food and stunning views

Get those legs fit for Saalbach. And possibly your pecs, there is a pool table in the Hotel

Weather forecast for next week is grim, snow to 1000m in places, hope it warms up the week after.

Are you mixing up Fahrenheit and Celsius?
Mr. Rees-Mogg will of course appreciate that.
But really, no snow in sight!

the Hof?? what is that?
Anyway, with these tempartures snow is unlikely, to put it mildly. Also at altitude.
Me think you need another weather app

Thank God the forecast above was wrong, has been fantastic the last couple of days here and looks set to be hot for the next few days. The village has been busy with a good vibe and lots of activity.
