Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking for advice for a friend.
He will be in Europe for a family trip late April into May. He plans, along with his son, to arrive in Europe ahead of the rest of the family. They will likely land around the Easter w/e with plans to do some skiing in Austria before the rest of the family arrives.
He is looking for advice on what ski areas are most likely to still have good snow. They are both good skiers and are looking for a large area (or areas) with access to challenging terrain. Neither of them have ever skied in Europe.
Leaving from Toronto, there are direct flights into Zurich, Munich and Vienna. They will likely rent a car and are not concerned about long drives. I think they would also consider Switzerland if the snow conditions were likely to be better.
Thanks.

Ischgl, Sölden, Obergurgl, and the glaciers
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Fly into Zürich and choose one of the resorts
@clarky999
, mentions. Best wait until closer the time to see what conditions are like. Ischgl is likely to be the best option, it stays open until May 1st. Last season you could have had great skiing in a whole range of places like the Arlberg etc but that is not always the case especially with a late Easter.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Zermatt if they would like to try Switzerland. Stunning scenery and a great ski area linked to Cervinia in Italy. They can then tick off 2 countries on 1 ski trip!
