Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Which is the best season lift pass deal in the Alps?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I’m planning a few months in the Alps in 2017-18, and I’m looking at what you get for your money in various resorts. Some offer just the local pass, others give you days in different resorts, and some give you access to other attractions, eg theme parks. It’s all very confusing.

I thought I’d try to provide a resource for SHs planning something similar by constructing a table with as many lift passes as possible. I’ve started with the Chamonix area and Grand Massif, but if you have any local knowledge, please add as much info as possible, and I’ll try to keep the table updated as we go along.

Prices are for an adult lift pass, in Euros.

watch out for some local variations on early deals regarding pick up in person etc vs internet purchase.

You can get a lot of miles for your money with the Dolomiti Superski, though I think still less than the Salzburg one.

Dolomiti Superski: €780 before 24 Dec, €840 after. 5 days in Adamello-Brenta Dolomites included.

Edited because the Dolomites are not called Brenda rolling eyes

Valloire €663 : €286 before 15th November. Extras; 40% discount off day passes in all other resorts in the Maurienne (inc Orelle to Val Thorens), 3 free days Bardoneccia

We will be in our motorhome for 2 months and will be able to tour the valley cost effectively spending about three 1 week stints in Valloire. Most of the other resorts max out at €35 for a full price day pass.

Hyst - it's true I don't want to go to Austria myself, but if someone posts the details of Austrian passes I'm happy to add them to the table for others who might be interested.

BoardieK - Valloire seems like an amazing deal. Does the 40% off the Orelle pass extend to the full three valleys day pass?

The ViaLattea Season Pass comes in at €1000 with a discount to €750 around the last 2 weeks of October. They are usually a bit cagy about whats included, but in the past there has been:
12 days in one of the Grande Galaxie resorts [La Grave, Les Deux Alpes, Puy Saint Vincent and Serre Chevalier]
3 days at Riserva Bianca Limone Piemonte
5 discount coupons for daily passes at Vialattea or Montiluna
3 discount coupons half price on daily pass at Bardonecchia

You're only the guts of 60 - 90 minutes from Turin airport.
Obviously if this is for 17/18 its just a case of keeping an eye on any changes! snowHead

Got to be the Innsbruck Freizeitticket: €425 for a YEAR, 12 ski resorts (9-10 months a year skiing at Stubai) that I can think of while the website is down, lifts for hiking and MTB (and music festivals) + lakes for swimming in summer. You do need to register as living in Tirol to get it, but it's a simple form to fill in and you're obliged to do it if staying more than a couple weeks anyway.

I totted up some stats for various other season passes here recently: http://www.fall-line.co.uk/5-best-area-season-ski-passes/

TBH I probably need to update it as the Epic Pass and Mountain Collective have a few additions since then, but to give an idea:

1. Snow Card Tirol

- 91 ski resorts
- 4000km of pistes
- 1100 lifts
- Valid from 01.10.16 – 15.05.17
- €756

2. Epic Ski Pass

- 13 ski resorts
- 35160 skiable acres
- 302 lifts
- Valid for one year (inc. Australia)
- $809

3. The Salzburg Super Ski Card

- 25 ski resorts
- 2750km of pistes (2100km with snowmaking)
- 916 lifts
- Valid from 15.10.16 – 01.05.17
- €680 (if bought before 06/12/16)

4. Mont Blanc Unlimited (season)

- 9 ski resorts
- 656km pistes
- 151 lifts
- Valid from late November (depending on snow) until the end of May
- €1680 (2015/16)

5. Mountain Collective Pass

- 16 ski resorts (2 days free in each, then 50% discount)
- 51,357 skiable acres
- 456 lifts
- Valid for one calendar year (inc. Southern Hemisphere)
- $399 (Spring 2016, though price changes throughout the year)

@Chamcham, Alpe d'Huez is a bit messy but here is, most, of it :-

Season Pass 589€ before 02/10, 729€ until 14/11, 878€ after that
Includes Les 2 Alpes (5 days if bought before 02/10 and 10 days for later purchases), Serre Chevalier (3 days),
Puy St Vincent (3 days ), Montgenèvre (3 days) and Sestriere (3 days)
Used to include unlimited access to Alpe du GrandSerre until they fell out........

5-12 years and 65-71 years get about 20% discount, over 71 more than that but not sure how much, it was free until a few years ago.

There is also an annual pass that includes the summer season for 673€ (at the earliest purchase price).
You also get a discount on an annual pass for the sports centre.

Just out of interest 2 separate 7 day passes would cost you 600€

The same skiing deals are available from OZ and Vaujany but, I think, with tie-ups / add ons to their own sports centres.
