When?
This was a question on the Castleford trip.

Chris Bish, then it won't be the south coast any more!

Was there some doubt where Castleford would be then?

Only when I threw a last minute spanner in the works... soon resolved itself though.

snowball, it took 1 or 2 days to organise the Castleford trip, but when we got there, we laughed at the South Coast gathering, in a mocking kind of way. Now I'm just continuing the mocking, but hoping some south coast members will vote here just to redress the balance

Doctor Who must be involved. That's the reason. It's best to meet in the Tardis in these situations.

I think we have real proof here that snow is more important than beer...

Pete Horn, one person doesn't make a meeting! (I think we agreed at Castleford that official meetings need to have a quorum of at least 10 people)
|
|
|

Wear The Fox Hat, I count two (independent) snowHeads meeting as a snowHead meeting. Anyway, I don't think we should put any obstacles in the way of the south coasters - they need all the help they can get!

You know it makes sense.

Ian Hopkinson, so that means the Nottingham meeting counts, as do a few others I've had.

Wear The Fox Hat, is there a problem with that?
snowHeads<10 = 'meeting'
snowHeads>=10 = 'jamboree' (or similar word of your choice)

Ian Hopkinson, at the Castleford meeting, I officially declared it open, and at the end, officially closed it.
There must be a certain level of ceremony behind these things or else it just turns in to a bunch of ski freaks getting together.

I'll be there! Sounds as if we Southerners have to stick together in the face of all this cynicism

Wear The Fox Hat, You aren't trying to set up in opposition to the Freemasons are you?
If you aren't careful we'll end up with arcane rituals and strange oaths!
Do you have an alternative to the funny handshake? Or are we gatting close to the "Snowheads hat" idea again?

Wear The Fox Hat,
Aside from the opening & closing, was it just "a bunch of ski freaks getting together"? (And what's wrong with that?)

Pete Horn, yes it was, but by adding the official opening and closing, it became a lot more.
Chris Bish, I'm not trying to set us up in opposition to any CLUB, although I was thinking that maybe we should have a summer ball, and raise money for Easyjet, or something...
|

I'm a bit suspicious of all this ritual business. I suggest we declare the South Coast meeting open by turning up and buying beer (or beverage of your choice) and close it by not being there any more some time later. All those in favour say "Mooo!"
|
|
|
|
|
|
Ahhh, but what you lot are forgetting is that "South Coast" members have already met..... just we live on a different bit of the south coast....
Myself, Guy, homphomp, Michelle and David Goldsmith met in Lewes way back in February at the aptly named Snowdrop pub to investiagte the avalanche.
We claimed the first "Snowheads meeting" and I'm pretty sure David took a photo to record the ocasion for when we celebrate our centenary in 2104!!!
So see, we did it long before you lot north of the Watford Gap even thought about it!!!

Your tongue will be cut out and your body buried between the high water mark and the low..
(For those not familiar with this sort of B#ll#cks it's Freemason stuff.) See my comments to Fox above.

Coming from the little North I have yet to balance whether if driving the 240 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne to attend the Milton Keyes snowheads meeting would upsets the Great Southerners

If one doesn't want to pick up a speeding ticket of say doing an average of 60mph overall, one is lucky back at home to hit the bed at 3:30 in the morning after finishing 11pm at MK.
The trip can only be for the opportunity of meeting other snowheads. Although historically the evidence in the posts would suggest I have been known to drive a 650mile-distance each year just to ski.

Have to admit the quality of the photos are much better than those we managed in Castleford. May be the Southerners do have a magic touch.
