Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

GS racing skis.

I'm beginning to consider getting some GS racing skis for all-out irresponsible skiing on icy groomers. I am looking for long radius high speed (as fast as gravity and air friction will allow) carving tools; I already own a pair of short turning skis. I weigh 165 lbs. Suggestions? Lengths?

Ghost, Buy the real thing if you can, incredibly hard to come by as there are many pretenders. 180cm, Atomic, Dynastar, Nordica. Little Angel

I still like my Head GS RD skis but they're too stiff for most people and they're not easy to find, they do a consumer GS version which looks similar except that it's a cap ski whereas the Race Department ones are not, I've no idea how they compare though

Ghost, no, no, no, you have it all wrong. They're all going for fat skis these days (or so I hear). Sanglard Sports in Chamonix has a pair of fine Stockli Asteroids. 201cm long and about 100mm across the waist.

That's what you want!

Although, if you really really want, I'm chomping at next seasons bit for a pair of 180cm Elan WC RD GS skis. Try Ebay...

I have a pair of Atomic GS11 176cm for sale, £180 plus postage, excellent skis which my son has used for racing on last two years. They are in excellent condition and only selling as next year he moves up an age group and will need even longer skis.

That's what got me started; my local sportcheck store is selling left-over brand new 04? 176 cm GS11 (not GS M11) with bindings for about $450 Canadian. A little too short I think. My wife doesn't think I need another pair of skis; I've got 208 SGs which are a little over-kill and 165 Slaloms (which seem a little too short radius after skiing the SGs all morning).
