Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

you can drop your mate at Chambery. Trains are more frequent from there to Geneva.

Or drop him at Moutiers, from where he can catch Altibus direct to GVA airport.

Trains into GVA from the south continue to be a bit of a nightmare thanks to the eternally unfinished southern rail link up into France. ‘Train to the airport’ may well involve coach transfer from somewhere like La Roche-sur-Foron to where the old Eux Vives station used to be, a longish walk across bridge to the central station then a local train out to the airport- or at least it did last summer. Good luck!

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

If you have to go via Lyon, Chambery is your best bet. Otherwise it's not much extra time to go Albertville - Sallanches and drop him off in Geneva. If you want to avoid the city or getting a vignette, cross the border at Gaillard and drop him off at the park and ride "P+R Sous-Moulin" to get the 5 bus to the airport, then head back out on to the A40.

 You know it makes sense.

You say 'we can't leave' but why can't he? Is it feasible for him to leave at, say 8-10am on a bus and make his own way to the airport? I only mention this because I had something similar with a friend of mine last month, albeit that he wanted a lift to the local station while I was remaining in the resort. We suddenly realised there was a bus down to the valley station at 8am and 9am and this worked out much better for both of us. Just a thought.

Can’t you just drop him in Bourg in the morning? It took me about 4 hours, with a change at Chambery.
