When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi Folks
Have just treated the good lady to a new pair of Cloud 8s with XTL 9 bindings. They appear to be a similar system to the TPi one I have on my Dynastars - which are useful as I can remove bindings for transport/cleaning etc. But I cannot see how these XTLs are located on the 'rail'. Also I would like to double check fitting and would prefer to know a little more about them - BUT - cannot find anything online regarding their fitment or adjustment. I'm pretty sure the rail part is factory mounted and the bindings themselves come in a box, so shop must have mounted them and then adjusted for her boot size.
Does anyone have any link that may help??

I've got a copy of the Atomic technical manual. It's probably in there.

But I've not done anything with those bindings myself I'm afraid, so best just have a hunt thru the manual.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a very similar problem with a XTL9 on my wife's Cloud7. I want to adjust for a bigger boot and I can adjust the heel part, but am stuck with the front.

The bindings are rebadged Salomon Z series bindings. The heel slides on the rail (as you know) but the toe is screw fixed to the front of the rail. Undo and remove the two screws which are situated just in front of the AFD (anti friction device = the lateral sliding part that the ball of the boot sits on). Now pull the toe binding straight rearward towards and it'll slide off a T section rail positioned under the front end of the toe binding. The T section also unscrews from the base and can now be repositioned in one of the other holes to suit the fore/aft position that you require. Reverse the proceed to reinstall the toe binding.
