Poster: A snowHead

I'm planning a trip for 8 folk to Silvretta next March 16th-24th, doing a pretty standard Ischgl to Galtur loop over 6 days/5 nights. I'm trying to find accommodation for us, plus guides, on the Saturday night before we set off, and the Friday and Saturday nights at the end of the tour. Our preferred base would be Galtur and I've tried the tourist office there but drawn a complete blank. There doesn't seem to be any availability at all, which I'm puzzled by, as I know it's a very popular touring area.
Has anybody toured there and have any suggestions for places to try? Or should I be looking further down the valley in Landeck? Any help appreciated.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@DB, Thanks. Just realised my wording wasn't very clear. I have guides sorted. I just need accommodation for 10 (8 of us + 2 guides), to bookend the tour.

Often accommodation in large resorts won't rent out just for a night or 2 in advance as it means they miss out on a weeks booking.
If the guide is local he/she normally sorts out the accommodation.
You might have to stay out of the resort (as you say Landeck) and then taxi it in to the starting point. Sometimes only the expensive hotels that are never full at that time of year are the only ones to offer such accommodation.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

With time permitting another option could be to get transport up to the first hut and stay there, we were dragged up by a pisten bully to a silvretta hut in the dark to the start of our tour but that may not work from the other end. Which hut are you starting from?
On the way back you could ski down on the last day then taxi straight to the local swimming / thermal baths getting showered / changed there. 2 extra nights in the huts will be a lot cheaper than hotels. Not sure where you would store the baggage you didn't need for the tour though.

Our guide is a Brit. He'll do the huts, but we need to sort hotels.
I think I'll need to take a look at Landeck. Hopefully there'll be more hotels happy to do bookings that aren't the full week. Taxis at either end shouldn't be too expensive I guess.

We stayed in Hotel Enzian in Landeck, walking distance from train station.large car park out back for anyone driving. They kept our bags for the week.

@DB, Thanks. That solves my next logistics question of organising taxis.
We're sorted for hotel, using the Schrofenstein in Landeck.

Used the Tramserhof in Landeck for overnight start/finish/gear storage base for Silvretta. Would recommend.
