Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,
Does anyone have a recommendation for an off piste/freeride guide for a day around Gstaad or Glacier 3000?
Thanks a lot,
Marc

@marcs44, When for? I can't recommend a private guide but I can recommend the freeridedays.ch event. I will be doing both days this year. Excellent value guiding.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks,
For a day over half term.
That event looks fun though - enjoy!

You could try Julie-Ann Clyma - British mountain guide based in nearby Leysin. May well be already booked; but if not she’s very good and super person too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Look at BMG British mountain guides, Steve Jones, Terry Ralphs and as above Julie-Ann.
These 3 live in Leysin, or Swiss Guide Adolf Schlunder lives in Gsteig.

I used him for some off-piste in Gstaad last season and was very impressed.

@marcs44, if I were not in rehab right now, i worked there before getting injured and it is an amazing place. Check with Gstaad Swisssnowsports office as they have guides/freeride Instructors that know the area really well. If it allowed me, I would post some photos of the North facing slopes with around 2000 vertical on every run. Awesome!

@snowcrazy, Not the best pics (having too much fun!) but this was almost exactly a year ago. 2 days after a good snowfall and hardly anyone there. Magic.

Yes, that is in the back bowl going down to the chair. There are a few options in the valley on the left and right sides. The powder is really fun and stays for quite a while as like you said, not many people around!! Awesome place, but do not tell everyone!! Toofy Grin

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@snowcrazy, are you talking about that huge descent heading N-ish from pretty much the summit of Les diablerets? That’s a super-dooper run. Happy))
