Poster: A snowHead

Went to combloux for a day last week and was bowled over how good it was, especially for children. I was a little lucky with the fantastic conditions but all in all couldn't recommend it high enough for a skiing young family looking for a few days skiing together. Lots of easy blue and green runs and a relaxed atmosphere on the slopes. No high octane nutters charging around to worry about here. Also a few children's courses set with tunnels and bridges.
Shame it's so low, as it's be buying my bolt hole here if it could limp through to mid April....
Guess that's why it's so relaxed.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We loved it in January too! As you say, very relaxing skiing.

Ended up there for a day last year on half term. We'd been at avoriaz the day before so by comparison combloux felt empty.
Really great place.

You'd have found the same a little way up the Valley, at Praz sur Arly where the skiing (unlike at Combloux) is on the "shady" side of the valley and keeps it's snow better. It's aspect, rather than altitude, which is the main problem at Combloux.

Horses/Courses
I went there for a day last week and found it really, really dull.
All easy blues and greens and that includes the reds and black(?).
I would not go back...but like I said horse/courses so who am I to say?

I suppose I was looking at it from skiing with a family perspective. Verbier, it isn't.......

@pam w, sorry to nitpick, but don't the slopes at Combloux pretty much all face northeast or north, which is about as shady as you can get? It's only the handful of runs into Megeve down the Jaillet gondola which are slightly south of east facing.

@Jwh138, +1 for combloux for family ski trips, took mine there a couple of seasons ago for my kids first ski holiday.
Loved it, I went back a few weeks later for a cheeky break with my business partner!!
