Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best mountain restaurant in Dolomites

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have skied several times in Dolomites. This year am going for a long weekend at end Feb with my wife which coincides with a "significant" birthday. Have had many good lunches in the Dolomites over the years, but wondered which mountain hut the Snowheads experts would recommend for a proper blow out celebratory lunch. Doesn't matter where - just which would be most memorable lunch, combination of food, wine, view, ambience etc. Prefer to be up the hill rather than in town.

Thanks in advance...

Cant say that my choice is the best and it will depend on where you are at the time but if in Alta Badia I can recommend Bioch hut.

In Val gardena, Rifugio comici seems to be a popular haunt

Also Rifugio Scotoni in the hidden valley between San Cassiano and Cortina is another popular choice

In fact I think there was a thread on the best dolomite restaurants last year. Have a look back through the forum!!!

The a la carte dining room in the Piz Boe lounge above Corvara would be perfect. You could book a late lunch and gondola down so you can take full advantage of the fabulous cocktails and the beautiful wine list........amazing view!

Without question. The views are breathtaking, 80km to Swiss alps. The position is amazing.
Small, but perfect. Werner the owner is a diamond.

Good, but growing year on year and becoming a little 'commercial'.

Thanks All, lot's to consider there.

I recall one about two thirds of the way down La Longia that was good, on the left hand side as you look down. Does anyone know which that might be (I cannot recall)?

Wine at lunch on a ski holiday computes just fine. Have you tried switching yours off and back on again?

6 Brit blokes all around 50yo, having an amazing lunch at the Curona Hutte washed down with beers and Grappa, followed by a race down the James Bond run (La Longia) won't compute on any level.

It's a shed load of fun though. Shocked

If you’re in Alta badia you could head for a day trip to kronplatz there is the alpinn food space and restaurant it’s very new glass box job on a cliff set up by the guy who has three stars in San cassiano.
You have to book and for half term week we couldn’t get a table for 4. But plan a day to pop in for a drink on our day trip.
As far as regular hut. Col alt or alara get my vote and if you’re staying in corvara it’s just a short slide home if you get stuck in.
Equally we always have an evening in edelweiss in Colfosco get taken up and down the mountain and the food is brilliant Col parat do that too as do a number of others which is always fun
