Quick (silly maybe) questions about the escalator that links the lifts to some of the accommodation in 1650. Is it one way? Are you able to get off it mid-station or do you have to stay on it to the end? Cheers

?escalator?
Do you mean gondola?
There is an escalator that decants you at 1650 - from gondola to road opposite Chalet Cascades. No escalator going up the slope and certainly none with a mid station

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The official name of that gondola is the Ariondaz lift, and there is an escalator underneath the lift station that takes you down to the street level in 1650.
But I think your question is about the gondola itself rather than about the escalator? I do believe you can ride the gondola up or down the mountain, but there is no midstation on that particular gondola.

@Mountaindoc, I have never used the escalator coming up from the bottom of the village but as I understand it there are several (3?) sections (as it crosses a couple of roads) and is 2-way...
It brings you out right by the bakery which can be handy

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@offpisteskiing, Thank you. Yes I can see that it crosses a few roads (one of which is right by my accommodation - Keystone) so hopefully one of the stops is near there. Bakery sounds good

The escalator entrance is just across the road from the keystone boot room. It is one escalator up to the village. Two escalators down to acquamotion

We stayed in Le C last year and there is an escalator exit right by Keystone / Le C.
The Bakery at the top is great for lunch/breakfast and perfect for ski school (always full of New Gen instructors!)

@closey1973, Thank you. My boy will be in ski school with New Gen in the mornings so have made a note about the bakery which sounds like a good post-lesson pit stop

@Andie65, think it’s one of the 4 beds. A friend booked it so can’t remember which floor it’s on.
