Poster: A snowHead

Hi snowheads, I've been hibernating for a while. Tell me all you know about Bardonecchia. Have just booked a cheap week in early March for myself and 8 year old daughter. Trip was good value with cheap lift pass, but looks like some nice tree skiing. Hopefully not have to use the drag lifts. How good is the bus between the 2 ski areas?
Cheers,
Johnboy

It’s a few years since I was there, but have been twice and used the bus between Campo Smith and Jafferau both times. Very efficient as I recall, only a few minutes journey. Hopefully the rickety old single man chair, up from the base, has been replaced. Someone else may be able to confirm. Enjoy it, nice old town with some good, traditional family type restaurants.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I liked it there. The tree lined skiing is good. You may have to force yourself up some drags to get full value out of the area, butit's worth it. The link between the two areas was efficient with both a regular bus service and a minibus from the lifts, so you would rarely have to wait more than 15 minutes to get across.
The food and drink was also excellent and good value. Enjoy.

@Montana, the chair was replaced, now there's a gondola to the hotel at ~2,000m followed by a brand new 6-seater chairlift. The Jafferau sector is now a lot more attractive!
