Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A few years ago I was enjoying a relaxing ski around Grand Montets when a skidoo went passed me saying Google on the side.

We asked what was going on and the guy on the skidoo said they were taking footage for Google Maps to add pistes onto the web.
That same year I saw an article saying this was on the way.

Where can I see this or did Google not release it?

They have mapped many resorts. Just find the resort on google maps and select street view Madeye-Smiley

Loads of Pisteview resorts (and lifts/pistes marked on google maps too). Dolomites has been there at least 2 years. Can even work out the time of day the camera went round (iirc about 7am before the lifts opened, there, but other places may vary).

It does get slightly confused in places where the piste goes thru a tunnel under a road. Sometimes when you hit a "go forward" arrow, it suddenly jumps to summer.

Anyone know why this would be?

Well it works on Whistler. Been there for years. Just drag the Streetview chap(es) on to a run (it turns blue just like streets do when it is a mapped one, a few not mapped) and let go.
Then it works just like street view would on a street.
You do have to hit the blue bit quite accurately.

If a run does not turn blue then they have not done that resort yet.

google used to allow joe public to do their own streetview. So maybe it was amateur?
Google quite often rejected them, to the point where I dont think they bother with it anymore themselves.
