Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@under a new name, the sensors are (from what i have been told) in the tongue, and the cuff of the boot as well as under the foot, the plan is for it to be more accurate

@CEM, hmmm, still sceptical of the whole idea working, not of the idea itself. I find overall body and arms position and movement to be quite important and those won't be captured by pressure sensors on the boot.

To the extent that one of the demo skiers on the CARV promo site was really not skiing very well at all...

I’m guessing that Atomic’s racers would see benefits of such a level of analysis when chasing 1000th’s of seconds (maybe they already are), but for everyone else it would be overkill.

Yes, what I thought too. And one of the instructions given was "lean forward" which is a very amateurish instruction and almost certain to result in a bending at the waist (ass out) rather than flexation lower down.

Another pointless gizmo. Good skiers don't need it and learners would be better off with a human instructor. I'm surprised that instructors haven't universally panned the idea.

@under a new name, i agree Carv is a pretty basic not very accurate system (and a pain in the ass as it takes up 3mm height in the boot shell which affects fit), lets wait and see how good this one is, knowing the people involved it will be of a much higher level of precision, time will tell

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@CEM, at one level, given that all control inputs are through the boot, one could imagine that some smart computing could make it work, but equally, given the range of functional if inefficient and inelegant skiers...

Surely it would be the mono ski boot we've all been waiting for? A bit like the "big slipper" that used to be advertised in Sunday supplements.
