Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Shared Transfer needed from Turin to Pila on March 30th 2024 at 7.30pm

Hi there, I am a solo traveller (and new Snow Head member!) I will be flying into Turin on Saturday 30th March at 7.30pm and need to get to Pila.
I (wrongly) assumed I could get a shared shuttle/taxi from the airport to the resort for a a decent price 50-65EUR). However, this is not the case! The only options I can see is car rental (I don't want to drive) or a ridiculously priced private taxi. There must be lots of people renting cars and driving to Pila....can I join you? I would pay you! Or I have heard that there are lots of school ski trips that go to Pila, perhaps I could jump onto their bus, again, I would pay! Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated Laughing

Train from Turin to Aosta will probably be your best bet. If you need to get up the hill that night then you could try hitch the last bit or stay in cheap place in Aosta for the night. Because of the gondola Pila is a very quiet resort in terms of how many people stay up there.

Thanks for getting back to me, I have literally just rented a car, it seemed like the only option. I have added my trip to Blablacar, so hopefully someone will want to join me for the journey! It just seems so crazy, there are 3 of us arriving different days, all leaving the same day and we have all rented cars for 70-90EUR for the week!

Well, take comfort from the fact that that's very cheap compared, for example, to renting at Geneva. And it's an easy drive, though if it's dark and snowy I'd not head up the road to Pila at night unless I had snow chains and was willing to get out in the cold and fit them.
