Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chill Factore - Race Training cost

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I really enjoyed the race training sessions at Chill Factore back end of last winter and over the summer. It's a while since I've been, but the last sessions I booked I was told the pricing had been restructured and it was £99 for 3 sessions booked in advance, which didn't seem too bad for 6 hours skiing with a bit of coaching. However, I just called to book another 3 sessions and it's gone up to £150 for 3 sessions. I have to say, I'm finding that a bit hard to stomach as the coaching is very good, but it's certainly not 1:1 as the sessions are busy and usually it's a ratio of 1:15 ish.

I know membership takes 30% off the cost, but at £100 I'd need to book at least 6 sessions before it'd break even on membership, and I just haven't got the time or money to go that frequently to justify membership.

So a couple of questions for any regulars
1. Are prices seasonal (i.e. £99 in the summer, £150 in winter) - person I spoke to didn't have a clue.
2. They are really popular session, but I can't imagine everyone forks out £50/week to train there - or are they?? Am I missing something? Is there a cheaper way to do it?

I couldn't justify the cost of doing race training at CFe even at the old prices.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They were always £99 for 3 regardless to time of year, have been for at least 8 years.

That new price is a RIP OFF

Join a local dry slope club, £10 a session!

@PaulC1984, Cwrtainly I would reccommend a dry slope for race training. It should be a lot cheeper than £25 per hour, but what club does it for £10 per session?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

When my lad did some it was at stoke. Not sure what it is right now as it was a little while ago
