Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
The third day in a row for the dogs today ski touring, and this was quite a challenge, well so I thought?
Turns out when snow is deep and steep they just run straight down as opposed to the more usual following in our tracks.
37 kick turns, not that bothered the dogs on the up, more my OH who hung on in there.
Think I'll give the dogs a day off tomorrow.
Last three days they've done 2,266m vertical and 21km

This is so much fun to watch!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

What a nice little vid.
I'm coming under increasing pressure from my family to get a dog. I don't want one at all but I sense rebellion in the air.
If it happens I'd like to think we'd be able to do similar on the occasional Scottish trips.

Lovely! Is it always the same dog that leads the way or do they take turns beating a track?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@espri
, the shorter haired one (Kiki the mother aged 9) fairs much better in the powder than Beanie (daughter aged 7) as she gets clumps of snow in her hair.
And Kiki will lead whilst Beanie tends to hang at the back.
In Spring snow then Beanies younger fitness levels will put her ahead of her mother after a longer descent and or MTB ride.
