Poster: A snowHead
|
Does anybody from the London or Birmingham areas know of a trampoline club, or something similar (?), that one could use to get some familiarity for spins and flips? I struggle with going against my natural safety-first instincts when I'm on skis so I think it would be good to try it out in a safer environment before heading to the slopes in January.
Apologies if something similar has been posted before , I tried the search function to no avail.

@adithorp, No not trampoline park. The OP should have some instruction he or she wants to learn safely. Tramoline parks have a terrible safety record.

You definitely need an instructor and you definitely need a learning environment which includes you wearing a harness with side tethers.
Trampolining is a very high risk sport when you get to learning things like somersaults and reversals.

When I was at school and did trampolining as an extra-curricular sport there were no harnesses, just my games teacher to assist on the trampoline with the somersaults and fellow pupils standing at the sides ready to push you back into the centre if you threatened to fall off.
It worked well and no one hurt themselves.

Our local sports centre had the harness, etc.
The harness ishelpfull as the instructor can give more air time to help those not very good to rotate.
