Poster: A snowHead

Anyone been here, looking for somewhere different to my usual haunt Engelberg, which is brutal at half term!
Has to have decent off piste and this looks like with the Glacier and a bit of Touring there could be lot to do. I would go at half term which in Edinburgh term breaks up on Friday 9th Feb which is the day we would leave.
I have heard Italy is not so busy at our half term dates, is this true?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Also looking at this as a possibility, but for late January, not half-term. I've heard that there are a lot of off-piste possibilities in the area, but have also read people saying about signs saying off-piste skiing is prohibited, so I'm a little confused. Can anyone shed light on this? We're looking at Passo Tonale / Ponte di Legno as a possible alternative to the Monte Rosa area where we often go, and would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has been to both areas, especially from an off-piste perspective.

Only skied Pejo 3000 and lots of the off-piste wasn't skiable - it was late March - but what was good to go was good to go. Have at it.

So, Mike, not prohibited, then? I believe off-piste skiing is actually banned in some areas of Italy, and I don't want to end up going to one of those.
