Poster: A snowHead
|
I need a snow shovel, not a lightweight one for my rucksack, but a big one, long wooden handle, shiny metal blade, like the one the lifities use and every hotel and chalet in the mountains uses.
Not having much luck on google.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me what I should be searching for?

For UK use l'd suggest a steel coal shovel with a longer handle. Strong enough to shift frozen snow. The old timers reccommend smearing it with diesel to prevent the snow from sticking.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The ones that the lifties use are the Magne brand, you can get them at the Point P chain of builders merchants.

@1 guest, your google skillz are clearly lacking.
Search “snow shovel”, select “images” hundreds of the things. Admittedly not mostly metal.
And do you want a shovel or a pusher? I’d think a pusher more useful, most of the time.

Fiskars tools of all kinds are the nuts, my mum's been using the same pair of kitchen scissors made by them for a good forty years. Clas Ohlson sell a few lines of theirs, although I couldn't recall whether that includes shovels.
